Will beauty save the world? It depends on us. On each individual. One can sit on hands and complain that nothing will work. Yet everybody can do something to change. Art is perceived as something that is far from real life, from trouble and pain. However, we, Latvian fine art photographers, want to prove the contrary, and therefore we have established a public organization that helps children in need and sick children. Children’s pain was the impulse to create the charity foundation “Palīdzēsim.lv” because we think that sometimes the society does not pay attention to those in need simply because those persons are unseen. Children's calamity is unseen and thus we cannot imagine that our openness could change their lives. Therefore we believe that through photography our talent will portray particular destinies, will talk to everybody more directly and allow immediate support to those in need. Unlike other charity organizations, we provide assistance to a particular child, a particular family, a particular children’s home. We offer a possibility to donate to a specific case. Any Latvian photographer’s photo story of a child and his needs may become a drive for a donation. A report about all our activities to help a particular child will be also made as a photo story. Thus each donor visiting our web page can see how the donation has changed the child’s life. We believe that by donating and helping others we also help to ourselves. We recognize our intrinsic values. We remind to ourselves that we are healthier and more fortunate and therefore we can help those less fortunate. Current economic situation is difficult for everybody, but it is obvious that for some Latvian families it will be particularly hard. Therefore LET’S HELP!
